Oral History & Archive

The Ouseburn Trust maintains an archive of photographs and reminiscence recordings about the Ouseburn and Byker.

The archive is stored physically in our offices, and electronically using industry-standard MODES software. It is updated by a team of dedicated volunteers, who are available to conduct searches on behalf of researchers and the general public.

Our oral histories project is also run by volunteers, who interview people with memories of the Ouseburn using both audio and video equipment.

We are working on making these recordings available online, and we are always looking for more volunteers to join this highly skilled team - full training is given!
