Ouseburn Trust - Heroic Failures | Summer Walks

What to expect

Sometimes things just didn't go according to plan.  The Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Walkie-Talkie tower in London that reflected the sun's rays and melted cars in nearby streets, plans to host the 1966 Commonwealth Games in Newcastle.  Starting at the Star and Shadow on City Stadium and ending at the Tyne Bar, this walk will tell the story of some the things in the Ouseburn area that, despite good intentions, didn't quite go according to plan.  Led by John Emslie, a long-time heritage researcher and walk leader at the Ouseburn Trust.
