Ouseburn Community Parade | 1pm

Let’s come together for a celebratory stomp DOWN BY THE RIVER! Local musicians, performers, local schools and community groups will lead the walk from the Toffee Factory to Lime Street, along Riverside Walk.

You can watch from along the route, join the back of the parade, or meet everyone at the end on Lime Street.

This year’s Ouseburn Festival theme is the Ouseburn River, so we’ve commissioned artist Suzie Winsor to work with schools and local groups to create show-stopping parade outfits. What’s more, you can drop into her final parade outfit workshop on the Saturday of Ouseburn Festival to get parade ready.

Oceans of Kindness is an exploration of the cumulative power of words, creativity and kindness sparked by children’s imagination. Children from Christchurch Primary, Hotspur Primary and Shieldfield Youth Programme have written their own collection of ‘poems of kindness’ and then delicately adorned these onto majestic large-scale willow fish lanterns. The final gathered shoal of fish featured in a community parade and exhibition at Shieldfield Art Works, before migrating here to become part of a kindness trail as part of the Ouseburn Festival.

Follow the trail between Toffee Factory, The Cycle Hub, Brinkburn Street Brewery, Ouseburn Farm and Smile For Life cafe, The Grove, Full Circle Brew Co, Seven Stories, Hoults Yard, Ouseburn Trust's 51 Lime Street, and Shieldfield Art Works community garden.
